Launched in 2000, this version of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases website provided access to information for health professionals, patients, and the general public. 

  • Managed editorial updates and revisions including major redesign of first-generation website.
  • Coordinated with graphics designers and programmers to ensure use of latest technological advances in compliance with government requirements.
  • Repurposed print documents for the website. 
  • Served as corporate-client liasion.

During tenure with The MayaTech Corporation, worked on several redesigns of the corporate website. Figure A is the 2006 version and Figure B is the current version, which was launched in 2009.

For the 2006 version, worked with content providers, graphics designers, and programmers to develop architecture and page content. Wrote, edited, reviewed, and tested website content. Coordinated ongoing maintenance.

For the 2009 version, worked with graphics designers and programmers to enhance the site's look and feel. Reviewed existing content for usability and currency.

Organizational Administration

 

Developed an internal corporate website to provide staff with administrative information and tools.

Conducted task analysis and user testing to determine site architecture and content. Worked with programmers to create tools including an online sign-in sheet. Wrote "spotlight" articles on employees and tips on work-related topics. Coordinated updates and maintenance.

Education and Training

 

Oversaw the 2001 redesign of non-profit website providing content for educators, students, and the general public.

Conducted formal usability test of site. Reorganized information architecture. Managed contractors providing programming and graphics design support. Coordinated upgrade of servers and programming language. Worked with content providers to launch new material. Wrote and edited content. Managed ongoing maintenance.

Meeting Information and Administration

 

Established architecture and developed content for this annual conference website.  Worked with programmers and graphics designers to develop a database used to populate both the website and the printed conference program. Using a content management tool, reviewed and edited presentation abstracts. Coordinated the postmeeting update of the site to provide an archive of conference reports and presentations.

The National Cancer Institute State Cancer Legislative Database (SCLD) provides legislators and the general public with information about state laws related to cancer. Figure A is the 2006 version, and figure B is the current version.

The redesign in 2009 focused on enhancing usability and updating the graphic design. Completely reorganized architecture to provide users with direct access to content based on topic.

Worked with programmers to develop administrative tools for producing both web content and print documents from database.

Worked with graphics designer to layout pages in modular and user-friendly fashion.
